Description: This course considers recognition and management of common orofacial pains in particular dental and TMJ pain. This course considers common orofacial pains that a primary care clinician would encounter. Recognition and management of common orofacial pains in particular pain of dental origin and TMJD will be discussed. It outlines diagnosis including red flags, prompt management and appropriate referral when necessary. Case studies will be used to translate to clinical situations and delegates are encouraged to bring a case of their own (with rads/photos) if they wish to do so.

Description: Pain can affect wellbeing and cause stress and work absences. This course is aimed at delegates being able to take ownership and management of their own back care in the dental working environment. The course will enable delegates to recognise and identify ergonomic aspects, and how they impact on back care. The course will also demonstrate a range of exercises, which can help prevent and manage back pain in dentistry, and understand the benefits of exercise.
