Lecturer Details: Legal Issues - Keeping out of Trouble

Lecturer nameMr Steve Evans
Lecturer profilePresenter: Partner Steve Evans from Hempsons Solicitors.
Expertise: I started my career as a solicitor specialising in personal injury litigation acting for claimants, including clinical negligence claims. I joined Hempsons in 1996 originally as a specialist in defending clinical negligence. Since joining Hempsons all the clients I have worked for have been involved in the delivery of health and social care and the vast majority have been NHS bodies. One of the main areas of my work is in consent and capacity issues, including obtaining treatment/welfare orders. I regularly advise on confidentiality issues. I also regularly appear in the Coroner's Court and manage judicial review claims. I prepare and review statements and reports. Although I no longer work on clinical negligence claims I still work closely with colleagues who do and I am familiar with the process. I am listed as a Leading Individual in Health and Social Care in the 2009 Edition of Chambers Legal Directory.
