Aims

To provide an opportunity for participants to consider the essential knowledge and skills required to design, conduct, assess and evaluate high quality learning and teaching in medical and clincial contexts

To experience the teaching of peers in delivering teaching and learning

Objectives
  • To provide participants with an analysis of their current practice as educators in clinical settings
  • To provide some theoretical underpinning to learning and teaching to support practice
  • To provide participant with practical plans for how they might go about improving their practice as educators
Learning outcomes

Each participant will plan and teach a mirco session and have this analysed in terms of its effectiveness and underlying assumptions

Each particpant will gain knowledge about dominant paradigms around learnin, assessment and feedback and understand how they might be applied to their practice

Each participant will leave with a detailed practical plan to improve their teaching
