DescriptionMindfulness is an evidence based intervention which has been shown to help in the management of stress. This study day is aimed at SuppoRTT trainees , trainers; supervisors and HEE YH staff. Other trainees are welcome too if there are places available. The day is run by Dr Sanjay Suri, Consultant Paediatrician, Training Programme Director and Mindfulness teacher in training.
Additional information

The day is offered to raise awareness of mindfulness and discuss its application at work and in life. There will be an interactive approach with the use of scenarios. The learning will be experential with short meditative practices. There will be signposting to useful resources.

Aims

The aims of the day are to raise awareness of mindfulness as a practice and a trait and to understand its role in navigating the work life continuum, the management of stress and life enhancement.

Objectives
  • To become aware of the meaning of the minfulness and the evidence base
  • To understand the role of mindfulness in the mangaement of stress
  • To experience the practice of meditation to develop mindfulness
  • To apply the principles of mindfulness at work and in life
  • To be signposted to resources on mindfulness and self care
