DescriptionMindfulness is an evidence based intervention which has been shown to help in the management of stress and enhance well-being. This session is aimed at trainees, trainers, NHS and HEE YH staff. SuppoRTT trainees will be given first preference but others are welcome. The session is facilitated by Dr Sanjay Suri, Consultant Paediatrician alternating with Dr Shubhada Suri, GP, who are both mindfulness teachers and have qualified from the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University in Wales.
Additional information

The session is offered to raise awareness of mindfulness and discuss its application at work and in life. There will be an interactive approach with the use of scenarios. The learning will be experiential with short meditative practices. There will be signposting to useful resources.

It is recommended that you please use a computer or laptop rather than a mobile to join the zoom session and keep the video camera on as much as possible.

Aims

The aims of the day are to raise awareness of mindfulness as a practice and a trait and to understand its role in navigating the work-life continuum, the management of stress and life enhancement.

Objectives
  • To become aware of the meaning of the mindfulness and the evidence base
  • To understand the role of mindfulness in the management of stress and life enhancement
  • To experience the meditation practices to develop mindfulness
  • To take away practical tips to apply the principles of mindfulness at work and in life
  • To be signposted to resources on mindfulness and self care
