DescriptionTeaching, Group Facilitation and Presenting This three day programme is designed specifically for clinical teachers and aims to enhance and increase skills in teaching and supervising in clinical environments. You will have the opportunity to be videoed and receive private one to one feedback on your teaching approach. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate how you are applying the ideas about teaching gained through the course by participating in three micro teaching sessions: presenting, teaching practical skills and facilitating small group work. You will receive and give evaluative feedback about the learner experience in a supportive and fun environment with your peers. The course covers all 7 educational aspects of the GMC requirements for post graduate medical supervisors, including how to manage tricky issues in supervision
Additional information

It is mandatory to attend all 3 days of this course on the same programme.  Please do not book on this course if you have already booked / attended one of our other Teaching Skills courses.

If you have already undertaken a Certificate in Education, you do NOT need to apply for this course.

Pre-Course Work

Participants will be expected to spend some time outside the programme preparing material for the micro-teaching workshops.  This can be accessed via the documents.

Aims

To enable participants to:

· Extend their awareness of learning and the learning needs of adult learners

· Develop their skills and competence in teaching, assessment and evaluation

· Review and continue to improve their teaching practices
