Aims

Our programme is mapped to GMC professional capabilities framework and also the AoMRC Medical Leadership Competency Framework.

Objectives

In order to develop these specific set of skills, doctors in training require opportunities to:

  • Reflect on their own strengths and leadership style preferences to improve self-awareness and effectiveness as a leader and follower.
  • Receive training in evidence-based leadership and management practice
  • Practice new skills and approaches, with ongoing reflection, feedback and opportunity to further enhance their capabilities and embed these as new patterns of behaviour
  • Receive regular and constrictive feedback from the wider professional team on the impact of their professional behaviours on others and practice
  • Build professional support networks for life long development of leadership capabilities.
