DescriptionThis interactive 2-Day course covers a wide range of topics to help you improve your communication skills at work. Topics covered include: Understanding how communication difficulties arise and how to handle them when they do; Communication models and strategies; Identifying your preferred team role; Becoming more assertive at work; Communicating effectively with colleagues, patients and relatives; Giving constructive feedback and responding positively to critical feedback; Understanding conflict resolution styles and how to respond effectively to conflict at work. The course is highly participative and practical. Delegates will have the opportunity to practice and will receive constructive feedback on their communication skills.

This course is running via Zoom. Registration and joining instructions will be provided two weeks prior to the course starting via course facilitator, David Clegg.

Only those with a place booked via Maxcourse will receive their certificate after attendance of the course.

The overall aim for this course is to improve your communication skills.

Objectives

We approach this by:

Identifying difficult communication situations and challenges at work Considering different models and techniques of effective and assertive communication to use in these situations Practising with other delegates and a simulator.

Learning outcomes

As a result of completing this course you will:

  • Develop your reflective techniques to identify learning opportunities and areas for development.
  • Understand different models of communication and feedback, and how to apply them at work.
