This session is in two parts, morning and afternoon.  Educators are able to attend either session, but ideally both.  The morning will be more theory and the afternoon will be spent applying the theory.

Aims
  • To allow GP trainees to critically discuss a range of scenarios identifying issues with self-directed learning and consider how best to support GP trainees
  • To consider approaches for supporting overseas and UK trained GP trainees
Objectives
  • To critically examine the barriers, enablers and support mechanisms available to GP trainees and GP trainees, and relevant implications for supporting learning.
  • To gain a better understanding of supportive mechanisms for self-directed learning.
Learning outcomes
  • To consider a variety of suitable teaching and learning methods to engage your learners
  • To discuss case study vignettes to support self-directed learning
  • To discuss a range of strategies to help GP trainees with their learning transition into UK practice
