During this interactive workshop we will show you how an understanding of various concepts of self-awareness can hugely improve your mindset and increase your ability to thrive in all situations. During this workshop you will learn how to: Improve your communication and language skills Manage conflict Reduce your stress levels Increase your motivation Retain your energy levels Avoid burnout You will experience a variety of effective, accessible tools and techniques for boosting mental wellbeing, that can be easily woven into your working day. These include, meditations with purpose, visualisation exercises and practical tools. You will leave this course with a positive mindset and the skillset that you need to enjoy a fulfilling and rewarding career.

Aims
  • To raise awareness of the importance of resilience in General Practice for trainers and trainees
  • To provide delegates with the opportunity to explore their own self-awareness
  • To explore a wide range of practical skills, taken from multiple disciplines from which delegates will create a bespoke resilience toolkit
  • To reduce the risk of burnout and encourage GPs to appreciate the joy of General Practice
  • To encourage delegates to pass on these transferable skills to trainees
Objectives
  • To provide an objective measure of delegates current resilience
  • To explore and apply models for developing self-awareness
  • To teach a host of practical resilience tools for integration into the workplace including:
  1. The Five-Point Rescue Plan framework 2. NLP techniques for the consultation, communication and conflict situations.
  2. ‘The White Room’ a tool for achieving Mindfulness
  3. Meditation including guided meditations to take away
  4. Visualisation techniques to reboot between patients and at the end of surgery
  5. Rewording our mantras
  6. Harnessing the power of ritual
  7. Compartmentalising and its uses
  8. How to delegate effectively
  9. Being assertive and saying no effectively
