Lecturer profileRaj Rattan’s portfolio career includes over 30 years’ clinical experience in general dental practice. He was until recently a practice owner and was previously Strategic Associate Dean for foundation training at the London Deanery before taking up his position as Dental Director at Dental Protection in 2016.
He has provided consultancy services to public and private sector organisations including the NHS, Denplan, dental corporates and the Department of Health where he has served as a Policy Adviser and is the author/co-author of a number of textbooks including a recent text on Dental Law and Ethics. He has lectured extensively throughout the UK and internationally.
Outside dentistry, Raj is a keen magician and has been a member of the Magic Circle for over 25 year.

Lecturer profileCallum qualified from Dundee in 1982 and moved to Leeds where he had various NHS and University posts eventually becoming Hon Consultant/Senior Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry and Head of Conservative Dentistry. He was appointed as Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Liverpool in 2004, where he was Dean from 2008 – 2018 before becoming the Associate ProVice Chancellor for Education in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.
He recently retired from clinical practice after 40 years, having had long term interests in failing restorative treatment, toothwear and complex oro-facial pain (and sometimes all of these together!)
He was previously Chair of Dental Schools Council and has been Chair of the Dental Board of Dental Protection Ltd since 2017.

He has had a number of ‘niche’ hobbies over the years but, now he has retired, mainly concentrates on cycling.
