Aims

To give delegates an overview of the various 'concepts' of occlusion in order to understand where and why 'conflict' exists

Objectives
  • To understand the relationship between the teeth, the TMJ's and the muscles of mastication
  • To understand why working in centric relation is important for some patients and totally unnecessary for the majority
  • To understand the two minute occlusal examination for all patients
  • To understand when and why anterio/canine guidance is important
  • To understand why 'bruxing' may have nothing to do with occlusion
Learning outcomes

To update general practitioners with contemporary best practice in occlusion, relevant to their everyday practice.
