Aims

To ensure that DCPs working in a dental environment are up to date with the regulations relating to Ionising radiation

To update the delegates on current waste management policy and how to manage this in GDP setting

How do we motivate our patients to work in partnership and engage with their dental team to achieve optimum oral health?

Objectives

By the end of the day delegates will be able to

Understand the use of selection criteria in relation to dental radiography

Identify the risks associated with dental radiography

Understand the principles of a Quality Assurance programme

Able to recognise the risks associated with incorrect disposal of waste

Able to review their current waste management policy and discuss any changes required

Able to report back to their practice any modifications required

Discuss common problems with communication and motivation of patients

Make improved oral health of our patients the goal of the entire dental team
