Subject | Back care | ||
Description | Back pain is a serious subject. Dentists are four times more likely to retire on health grounds than doctors, with back and musculoskeletal pains high on the list of causes. As a dual qualified (13 years) and dentist (20 years), Gerry Gallacher is uniquely placed to understand and advise on avoiding and treating back pain. Despite the serious content, this is an enjoyable course; with 20 practical tips, demonstrations and exercises (come prepared to move around, stand, kneel, lie down....). Some of us will even be stronger by the end of the day!
Additional information | Gerry Gallacher qualified as a dentist from the University of Dundee in 1986, and spent a year in postgraduate study at the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland. He has wide experience in General Dental Practice and salaried positions in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1998, he qualified wit a Bsc (Hons) from the British School of Osteopathy and has worked throughout South West England and New Zealand. He currently works as a sports Osteopath at the University of Bristol Sports Medicine Clinic.
