Aims

To ensure that DCP's working in the dental environment are up to date with the  regulations relating to ionising radiation

Objectives

by the end of the  session delegates will:-

Understand the basic principles of radiation physics

Have an understanding of the risks of ionizing radiation and the principles of radiation protection in dental radiology

Know the radiation doses in dental radiology and factors affecting radiation dose

Understand the principles of a Quality Assurance programme

Understand the use of selection criteria in relation to dental radiography

Know the changes to the legislation concerning dental radiology and be aware of their statutory responsibilities
