Aims

Waste Management:-

  • To update the delegates on current waste management policy and how to manage this in the general dental practice.
  • To refresh on hand hygiene, practice cleaning and decontamination room validation.

Special Care Dentistry:-

To educate DCP's about special care dentistry.

Objectives

 Waste Management:-

  • To recognise the risks associated with incorrect disposal of waste.
  • To review their current waste management policy and discuss any changes required.

Special Care Dentistry:-

  • To be able to recognise who may be a special care patient.
  • To recognise potential barriers for special care patients to access dental treatment.
Learning outcomes

By the end of the day delegates will be able to:-

Special Care Dentistry:-

  • To be able to facilitate dental treatment for dental patients with special needs in your own practice.
  • To know what referral services are available for special care patients.
