Aims

To review and refresh delegate knowledge of the ionising radiation regulations and the documentary evidence required to demonstrate compliance.

Objectives

To bring a fresh approach to the standard radiology up date by emphasising; hazards from exposure and regulatory requirements through the necessary  inclusions for the radiation protection file.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Delegates will understand the hazards from exposures to radiation
  2. They will fully understand the need to keep dose records and understand the difference between doses that are expected and Dose Reference Levels
  3. Delegates will know the radiation protection file requirements for both IRR1999 and IR(ME)R and understand the reasons for their inclusion
  4. The purpose of an the performance of necessary quality assurance programmes will be fully understood
