Lecturer profileAsmaa is a clinical lecturer in restorative dentistry at Leeds. She completed her MSc with distinction and PhD at Leeds. For her PhD she developed novel nano-hybride dental composite with anticaries properties. Previously she spent a significant period of time in both General Practice and as a Senior House Officer in Maxillofacial Surgery and Restorative Dentistry. She has also been awarded the Membership Diploma from the Faculty of Dental Surgeons, (Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh). She has an interest in rehabilitating tooth surface loss patients with direct resin composites and all aspects of fixed and removable prosthodontics. She published in the fields of dental composites, removable prosthodontics, endodontics and the rehabilitation of oral cancer patients. She has an interest in both undergraduate and postgraduate education and has lectured nationally and internationally.

Lecturer profileRahat qualified with First Class Honours in Physiology in 2001 and then Dentistry in 2004 from the University of Bristol. He then spent 2 years in General Practice where he finished his MFGDP Diploma before returning to the hospital sector. He spent a year as an SHO in Oral Medicine whilst completing his MFDS before working for 2 years as a Clinical Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry. During this time he developed a novel way to teach undergraduates how to correctly diagnose dental pain using the
underlying oral physiology. Rahat then worked as a Staff Grade Surgeon in London before starting his Specialist Registrar training in Restorative Dentistry at the Leeds Dental Institute and St Luke s Hospital in Bradford. During this time Rahat developed a keen interest in Complex Endodontics, Removable Prosthodontics for Gagging Patients and the multi-disciplinary rehabilitation of Head and Neck Cancer
and Cleft Palate Patients. He remains a keen and passionate teacher and provides many lectures for both undergraduates and post graduates on all aspects of restorative dentistry across the United Kingdom.

Rahat completed his specialist training in Restorative Dentistry in 2015 and his Post CCST Fellowship in Head and Neck Oral Cancer Rehabilitation with the North Western Deanery in 2016. He is now Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Liverpool Dental Hospital and also based in Specialist Practice in Manchester.

Rahat is a GDC registered Specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontics and Prosthodontics.

He is an Examiner for the Overseas Registration Exam, the Specialist Membership in Prosthodontics and Endodontics exams for the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) as we as the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exam (ISFE) in Restorative Dentistry.
