Leona works as a clinical skills facilitator at the School of Dentistry at Leeds University with responsibility for the Medical Emergency Training. Leona teaches dental students, NHS dental staff and Dental Practice teams accessing training as part of their CPD scheme. Leona has worked in the acute NHS sector as a Registered Nurse for twenty years and brings a wealth of clinical experience to her facilitator role. She also worked as clinical educator at Leeds teaching hospital supporting the development of newly qualified staff through a competency based training package.

Lecturer profileI currently work at Leeds University delivering training in medical emergencies to the dental team. I teach Year 4&5 dental students, postgraduate students, staff from Leeds dental institute and teach on the Y&H deanery courses offered by Leeds university. I am a registered nurse and have completed post graduate training in advanced practice. I have worked in various advanced practice roles, mainly in anaesthetics but also acute medicine. I also have experience in A&E and Care of the elderly.
