Lecturer profileBarbara Lamb qualified as a general radiographer in 1974 and, since then, has worked exclusively as a specialised radiographer in the dental field. From 1974 to 1979 Barbara was employed in Glasgow Dental Hospital as a radiographer. She then worked as a single handed radiographer in dental practice from 1982 to 1998 as well as providing radiography support to a number of dental research projects before returning to work at Glasgow Dental Hospital from 1998 to 2008.

Since becoming self-employed in 2008, Barbara has specialised in delivering CPD on all aspects of IRMER, travelling all over the UK giving practical based workshops and lectures as well as delivering courses which qualify dental nurses to take radiographs. Barbara also provides dental team "in practice training" and IRMER courses which allows the sessions to be tailored to the specific circumstances of individual practices. All courses are tailored to the needs of dentists, dental hygienist/therapists, dental hygienists and dental nurses working in general dental practice, community dental services and hospital dentistry settings.

Barbara presents the dental radiography component of the BSc undergraduate course of the Universities of Edinburgh and the Highlands and Islands in Oral Health Sciences.
